On Psalm 138:6'A Prayer

Lord Take away 'the pride of life' from me,

That I might walk in true humility

Not that the world's loud praise should crown my story

But to receive, and glimpse your Love and Glory

For it is high and greatly to be prized

Not shunned or scorned by such as walk unwise.

One touch from Thee makes life and breath more sweet

Than gaudy treasures bartered in the street.

Humble me Lord that I might touch your hem

And touch your Virtue, not the praise of men.
