Gene Pinkney, a
retired Literature professor, passed away September 11, 2025.
Pinkney, a lover of Shakespeare and the classics, left those lofty realms
to celebrate the unrecognized but noteworthy lives of people in the
Red River Valley
of the North. In recent years, Pinkney blessed a larger community with
a weekly column
in the Wahpeton Daily News,(Wahpeton, North Dakota).
